The underlying risks driving a loss of staff will vary. The type of business and its location will affect which risks are pertinent.
Although unlikely, businesses located in crowded urban areas or in prominent buildings, e.g. head offices or iconic sites, should consider the impacts on staffing levels of a malicious attack on that area/building.
Other scenarios have a lower direct impact on one organisation / business but a more widespread impact on the area / sector, for example, a 'flu pandemic may lead to a 0.4% - 2.5% fatality rate of those who are infected with the pandemic virus and show symptoms.
